Il 1° ottobre 2001 l’EICTA (European Information, Communications and Consumer Electronics Technology Industry Association) ha fuso le proprie attività con quelle dell’EACEM (European Association of Consumer Electronics Manufacturers).
La nuova entità riunisce 45 grandi aziende multinazionali e 28 associazioni nazionali di 18 paesi europei. La nuova EICTA rappresenta oltre 10.000 aziende in tutta Europa.
